The region’s Shia community organized the celebration in cooperation with Iran’s Cultural Center in Tanzania and the Sayyid ul-Shuhada Institute.
A delegation from Astan Quds Razavi, the custodianship of Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine in Mashhad, was also present at the ceremony.
Addressing the event, Iran’s Cultural Attaché Ali Baqeri elaborated in the virtues and character of Imam Reza (AS), stressing the Imam’s role in promoting interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence and unity in the Muslim Ummah.
Also speaking was Iranian cleric Hojat-ol-Islam Khosropanah who said Muslim should follow the example of Imam Reza (AS) to promote dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
Another such ceremony was held at the Shia mosque in the city of Arusha in the same region on Tuesday.
