Quran Memorization Contest for Disabled Planned in Egypt

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Egypt’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs plans to hold a Quran memorization competition for the disabled and those with special needs.

According to youm7.com, the ministry announced that the competition has been planned for those under the age of 25.

Memorization of the entire Quran, memorization of 15 Juzes (parts) and memorization of the last three Juzes of Quran, from Surah Mujadila to Surah Nas, are the categories of the contest.

The participants will also compete on understanding the meaning of Quranic terms.

Top rank winners of the Quran competitions held by the ministry in the past five years are not elligible to take part in the contest.

Egypt is an Arab country in North Africa. Some 90 percent of the country’s population is Muslim.
