Indonesia to Host 10th ASEAN-Pacific Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is set to welcome members of the 10th ASEAN-Pacific Al Quran and Hadith reciters and memorizers competition (Musabaqah) at the State Palace in Jakarta on Thursday.

The participants will be accompanied by Prince Khalid bin Abdul Aziz, chairman of the board of trustee of a Saudi social charity that cooperates in holding the event.

“I express my appreciation to the Saudi Arabian government for the participation in holding the Musabaqah each year because it has a major benefit for us all,” said Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin on January 10. 

The competition was participated involved 17 countries from the 30 countries that were invited.

The number of participants in 2018 has not changed, according to en.tempo.co website.
