Quran Contest for Disabled Planned in UAE

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 7th edition of UAE’s national Quran competition for those with physical and mental disabilities will be organized in Dubai from May 27 to 31.

 

 

According to Emirates News Agency (WAM), Dubai Club for Disabled will hold the competition for 285 male and female individuals from different parts of the Arab country.

There is a 20 percent increase in the number of participants in this year’s national Quranic event comparing to the previous edition.

A number of school students will also attend the competition for the first time.

Memorization of the entire Quran, 20, 15, 7, 5, 3 and 2 Juzes (parts), and memorization of one Juz and some short Surahs of Quran are the categories of the competition.

Members of the jury panel will be selected in cooperation with Dubai Holy Quran Award Institute and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charity Activities of Dubai.

Besides Emirati people, expatriates will also be among the participants in the competition.
