Islam Religion of Peace: Senior Cleric
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Prominent Iranian cleric Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi underlined that Islam is religion of peace and fraternity.
Speaking in a meeting with head of Afghan High Peace Council and his accompanying delegation in Qom on Saturday, Ayatollah Shirazi added that Muslims should follow the teachings of the Quran and Islam and prevent bloodsheds in Muslim countries.
Why is it that peace is not restored to Afghanistan and there are killings in the country every day, he wondered.
The cleric called for creation of a think tank to study the root causes and ways to counter fratricide and bloodshed in Afghanistan.
