6000 Quranic Centers Active in Iran

Head of the Dar-ol-Quran Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran said there are more than 6000 active Quranic centers in the country.

Mehdi Qarasheikhlu made the remark on Friday while addressing a ceremony held to inaugurate the Safinat-ul-Nijat Quranic Center in the city of Arak, south of Tehran.
He added that some 2500 Quranic centers are in cities and the rest are in villages across the country, Fars news agency reported.
Qarasheikhlu also elaborated on the activities of his organization, saying that centers affiliated to the Dar-ol-Quran Organization have held over 300,000 Quranic courses at different levels over the years.
He added that the organization, which is responsible for supervising Quran printing, has so far issued permission for printing 1.7 million copies of the Quran.
The official referred to the promotion of the Quranic culture as one of the main demands of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and underlined that all cultural bodies in the country must make efforts in that direction and put fostering the Quranic culture high on their agenda.
He went on to stress the importance of public participation in Quranic activities.
