500 Quranic Programs Planned for Basij Week

TEHRAN (IQNA) – On the occasion of the Basij Week in Iran, some 500 Quranic programs will be held in the country, an official said.

 

Mohammad Zolfaqari, head of the Basij (volunteer forces) Dar-ol-Quran Organization, told IQNA that the programs include Quran recitation sessions.

He added that the 27th nation Quran competition of Basij will also be held in the week.

The contenders will compete in 15 categories, Zolfaqari stated.

He went on to say that top Quran activists of the Basij will also be honored in ceremonies during the Basij Week later this month.

Basij is a paramilitary volunteer force established in November 1979 by order of the Late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini.
