The Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) announced that the Konya Province, south of the country, will host the event on May 1-13, during the holy month of Ramadan, The New Turk Post reported.
It said contenders will compete in the categories of recitation and memorization of the entire Quran.
The age limit for those willing to take part in the contest is 18 to 35, according to the announcement.
Those who have won titles in other international Quran competitions cannot attend this event, it said.
The deadline for applying for the competition is March 2, it added.
Turkey’s 7th international Quran competition will be held in Istanbul in May 2019.
Fifty memorizers and 60 reciters from 60 countries attended the contest.
