Young Egyptian Qari Recites Quran in Tatarstan (+Video)

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Ahmed Mahdi is a young Egyptian who is becoming a known Qari.

He recently traveled to the Russian Republic of Tatarstan and recited verses from the Holy Quran there during his trip.

The following footage features his recitation of verses from Surah al-Furqan (25) in a ceremony held in Tatarstan to mark Eid al-Fitr.  

Tatarstan is a federal subject of the Russian Federation located in the Volga Federal District. Its capital is the city of Kazan.

Over 55 percent of the estimated 3.8 million population in Tatarstan is Muslim.
