TEHRAN (IQNA) – Divine prophets had miracles to show their people that they had indeed been sent by God to guide them.

Divine miracles

Each prophet ought to have a miracle to probe that he is linked with a superior power and wisdom. Every prophet’s miracle was appropriate to the thoughts and culture of the people of the time.

But the only miracle that has lasted and is still there for everyone to see is the miracle of the last messenger of God, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The Quran is superior to other miracles of prophets in various aspects, including the following:

1- The Quran is always accessible for everyone. Whereas, for example, the staff of Moses (AS) turned into a serpent or Jesus (AS) raised people from the dead in a certain period of time and in a certain place. Those miracles are not accessible anywhere else or in other times in history.

2- The building blocks of Islam’s miracle are letters of the alphabet. Twenty-nine Surahs of Quran begin with Huroof al Muqatta. God says in Surah Ash-Shura: “Ha. Mim. Ayn. Sin. Qaf. This is how God, the Majestic and All-wise, sends revelations to you and sent them to those who lived before you.” (Verses 1-3) So God’s revelation is with these very letters of the alphabet.

3- The Quran is both a miracle and a divine book, unlike the miracles of other prophets.

4- The miracles of other prophets were miracles in one aspect but the Quran is a miracle from 15 aspects (according to Allameh Majlesi) and 11 aspects (according to Allameh Tabatabaei). It is possible that more aspects of this miracle (such as numerical aspect) will be discovered in the future.
