IQNA – Lt. General Qassem Soleimani considered defending Palestine as his responsibility, a senior member of the Islamic Jihad movement said.

Abu Wassam Mahfouz Munawwar

Addressing an international webinar on “Globalization of Resistance; Achievement of Martyr Soleimani’s School,” Abu Wassam Mahfouz Munawwar, added that Gen. Soleimani believed he should be beside his brothers in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq.

“He made efforts to unite (resistance) fronts so that all of them would be ready for liberation of Palestine at the zero hour.”

Munawwar described General Soleimani as an exceptional commander who was also a big brother and a father for resistance fighters.

What distinguished Martyr Soleimani from other commanders was that he did not know defeat, he stated.

“He believed that every action may result in success or failure but what matters is that one should learn from failures and move toward successes,” the Islamic Jihad official added.

He said when the time came for Gen. Soleimani to be a soldier of the path of al-Quds, he was present everywhere – in Lebanon, Syria, Palestine- with his heart, conscience and action.

He was in the heart of all Palestinians, especially resistance forces, with whom he lived every minute, Munawwar said.

“We in the Palestinian resistance and in the Islamic Jihad feel that we have lost a great commander and dear brother and kind father.

“But what makes us happy is that the path drawn by Martyr Qassem Soleimani still exists and those who were around him continue this path.”

Munawwar went on to say that the resistance movement is strong and continues on the path and arrive at Al-Aqsa Mosque soon.

The webinar on “Globalization of Resistance; Achievement of Martyr Soleimani’s School” was held by the International Quran News Agency (IQNA) on Monday.

“Role of Martyr Soleimani in reviving the resistance front and turning it into a regional and global power,” and “effects of General Soleimani and Soleimani School on creating a change in current world order and transition to new world order” were the two main themes of the online seminar.

It was also addressed by Abu Samir Musa, a senior member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, Sheikh Qazi Yusuf Hunaina, head of Lebanon’s Association of Muslim Scholars, and Muhnad Najm Abd al-Aqabi, director of the public relations office of Iraq’s Hashd al-Shaabi.

General Soleimani, the commander of the Islamic Revolution Gurads Corps Quds Force, and al-Muhandis, the deputy head of Iraq’s PMU, along with a number of their companions, were assassinated in a US drone attack on Baghdad International Airport in January 3, 2020.
