Cleric Stresses Muslim World’s Unanimity in Support of Palestine

IQNA – A senior Iranian cleric said the Muslim would should have a unified, strong and supportive stance on the issue of Palestine.

Ayatollah Ahmad Mobaleghi addressing the Global Conference for Building Bridges between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects

 

Member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts Ayatollah Ahmad Mobaleghi made the remark in an address to the Global Conference for Building Bridges between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects, which was held in the holy city of Mecca on Sunday and Monday.

He said deep and historical wounds disturb part of the Muslim Ummah, namely the oppressed people of Palestine.

Muslims all around the world should unite, exchange views and adopt a unanimous, powerful and supportive stance on Palestine, he reiterated.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the cleric hailed the initiative to hold the conference in Mecca to build bridges between Islamic schools of thought.

He said bridges of understanding should be built to link schools of thought and values of the Muslim Ummah in order to strengthen ties and peaceful coexistence.

Cleric Stresses Muslim World’s Unanimity in Support of Palestine

Scholars, muftis, thinkers and personalities from different Islamic countries took part in the two-day event, which was organized by the Muslim World League.

Abbas Khameyar, the cultural and social deputy of the University of Religions and Sects, was the other Iranian figure addressing the conference.

The first in its kind, the conference featured purposeful dialogues to enhance relations among Islamic schools of thought and serve their common objectives.

The participants sought to foster unified Islamic brotherhood, cooperation and harmony in perspectives on key issues and goals of the Muslim Ummah.

They also discussed confronting speeches, slogans and methods of exclusion based on sects.
